Rates are used to create a healthy environment, freshwater for life, safe and resilient communities, and a vibrant Bay of Plenty region.
Rates are payable on Māori freehold land, unless the land comes under one of the exceptions in the rates legislation.
A rates remission is a discount on the rates you owe – your rates may be partially reduced or waived.
